The best thing about calling your wedding day “your day” is that it really is all yours.  It’s not any more complex than that when you think about it.  Sometimes people want to make it more, and it’s fine to dress it up, but remember that at the end of the day it’s just about you and your partner uniting in love for a lifetime.  That being said, this is one of the times in life when you can make an entire event be as unique as you are.  There are many ways to do this.  You can write your own vows or have the ceremony somewhere special outdoors.  A simpler way to distinguish your nuptials from the rest of the world is to pick out a unique wedding favor to give to your wedding party and guests.
